In Barnsley, we have an innovative way of working together to make the best use of all the resources we have to tackle anti-social behaviour.  We know that anti-social behaviour can have a devastating impact on neighbourhood and residents quality of life.

SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD TEAMS (SNTs) are additional resources put in place by the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, South Yorkshire Police and Berneslai Homes to help communities and individuals who are suffering because of serious or persisitent anti-social behaviour of others.  We beleive that safety is a basic right for everyone that lives, works or visits Barnsley.

We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour

The teams consist of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and Council Impact Wardens all working together with the community and other agencies and organisations to tackle anti-social behaviour.  The teams put the needs of the community first by adopting a problem solving approach and plan specific operations to target issues.

Barnsley also has a specialist unit called the Neighbourhood Safety Unit which takes referral from the Safer Neighbourhood Teams on more serious matters
